Then, in the latter part of 1990s, she started professional dance and acting in Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. After moving to Minnesota and appearing in an undocumentary-style film called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) concerning beauty pageant contests. After moving to Los Angeles, she pursued acting after her debut film in where she played an uneasy but fun contestant. Her husband was the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 until September 1962, and was her mother to Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. The actress Norma Shearer Leigh secured a contract with MGM and started her career in film in the 1940s. The actress portrayed Norma in various popular films throughout time, like Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho which was released in 1960 as well as Living It Up, a Martin and Lewis film which was released in 1954.
